Our Beautiful Grandmother RUBY

Hi Woody,
Bodhi here with some photos we got from an email.
This is our grandmother Ruby, isn't she beautiful? I bet ever woman wishes she could look so great at any age, let alone as old as she was in these photos, I think 16? She is no longer with us, so us kids have to keep her memory alive and make sure she is proud of us! Her mom and dad were: Northstar's Alaskan Otis and Northstar's Alaskan Natalie. She was born December 3, 1991.

Some photos of young Ruby, taken in 1995:

What a beautiful gal..... wow.....

This is our uncle Alder, who can still be found lounging on the couch at Pete and Donna's house.

A Fancy White Rosette for Bodhi

Hi Woody,
It's your brother Bodhi here with some good news! I had a fun day yesterday at the Souhegan Kennel Club's Obedience show in Amherst NH.
Miss W and I traveled down with Corina and Scott and their two dogs Lucas and Jadis. It was a little scary for Jadis and I, as we had never done indoor competition. I hated the doorways! Creepy! But I loved seeing all the obedience dogs and all the nice people with treats in every pocket.

I was in Rally novice A, and it was fun! I did great and only lost one point out of 100. Miss W was her usual self, took us the wrong way around a circle and did one other dumb thing and lost 13 points for handler error! But still, we got 86, which was better than our last go and we got a 4rth place and a pretty ribbon, a rosette AND a stuffed sheep!!!!! We are 2/3 of the way to our Rally title.

Everyone was very proud of me, because I did my healing perfect and I paid very close attention to my W the whole time. I was pretty close to perfect, I was just in the mood to do it. I was really hoping for crackers, but Miss W had eaten them all before we went in.

Lucas and Jadis were in Novice B and both also got the special green ribbon that means qualification. They also got very high scores and their mommy is very proud of them. They did not get big fat stuffed sheep like me! Actually, I thought it was cute till Miss W made it squeak and then I was grossed out. I let the puppy Tart have it, who let old Ranger have it, who pulled all the stuffing out. Ranger is helping me type this right now, he is good with computers.

So Corina said she thought maybe our cute little sister Dahlia ought to have a go at this stuff too, seeing how good I am! She thinks Dahlia is not too smart, boy does Dahlia have them fooled...

Well Woody, my ribbon is next to your GORGEOUS red 1st place one's on the Miss W's fridge. I think she is well pleased with us all. I think this means we can start running in harness full time for a while and look forward to lots of chilly adventures now, and warm fun ones next spring and summer!

Love to you all,
Bodhi - wearing a brand new green collar that goes with my green qualifying ribbons!

Congratulations Darka

Wow Darka, thats fantastic. I'm so proud of you. I have shown your picture to all my friends here, especially Minnie and Nakki, they were so impressed. Tell me, what has Miss W got on...she has legs? Over here nobody wears skirts when they show. Mum sort of dressed up at the last show, she put on a red top. I thought it was too posh so i jumped up and put a Woody paw mark right in the middle of it.

A little bird (well, granny Donna) told me that my bruvs JB and Bhodi did well recently too, working towards your Rally degrees and Bhodi got his Canine Good Citizen too. That's brilliant, i am so proud of you guys.

I hear Berlin is coming along well too..... will you post some pictures of my family soon so i can boast about you all to my friends over here.

I think we are going training tomorrow and at the weekend. Mum's back is still bad so she won't be doing much. I was supposed to be going to a show tomorrow with her and Mac and Aunty Sharon but we are not going in case i pull her over!

Hmmm, i smell roast lamb and roast potatoes so mum says i have to finish now as she wants her dinner! i wonder if i will get some roast lamb?

Well done again to you Darka and my bruvs. Love to mum Rainey and my pal Boomer.

Congrats to Woody!!!

Dearest Woody,
It is your old friend here, Darka, from the US.
I wanted to let you know how happy I am for you, and in case you were wondering, being a show dog occasionally is great. Very cool in fact. So, be proud, bcs we are SO PROUD of you at home.

And here is a tiny bit of success we finally got here in the US...

Here I am, getting ready for the North Conway show a week ago.... Miss W brushed me for ages.

This is me and Miss W going around for the judge, Marsman. we went round and round and round! I liked it!

And this is us posing, bcs guess what? I won Winner's Bitch and then Best of Winners! And the best part is I still get to be a sled dog and an obedience dog!

LOVE to you ALWAYS -
DARKA

PS i forgot to say.....

..... i went to City of Birmingham Championship Show 2 weeks ago and won my class there too...... does this make me a show dog?

I won again!

Hello everyone

This is me and mum in the mud at Darlington Championship Show this weekend. It was so muddy, apparently even worse than some races over here in the UK!

I was a really good boy and won my class. Mac came third in his class. But best of all was my my nephew Togan, Toddy's boy. He won Best Puppy in Breed at his first ever Championship show, at only 6 months and one week old! I bet Uncle Turner is proud.

Well, i'm off to bed now. It would be brilliant to hear from you all sometime.

lots of love Woody Woo xxxxx

Back Flips

Dearest Toddy and Woody
We are doing back flips for joy. What great news!
Woody - I hope you get to knock over a few water buckets in celebration and to cool off! Yesterday Hakka stood in his tub-pool for over 15 minutes splashing and drinking.

Champion Uncle Toddy

Hi Miss W

We went to BIG championship show today in ENGLAND! There was over 120 huskies there and it was VERY hot.

We had a brilliant time. Uncle Toddy was a real star and he won Best Dog for the third time which makes him a CHAMPION! He then won Best of Breed and went into the Working Group.

Aunty Ann took Cousin Mac into the ring and he was really good for her and came second from lots of huskies.

BUT, before all that, I really tried hard for my mum and won Junior Dog class from 11 dogs. I have got a huge red rosette to send you now.

We are just home...it was a long 5 hour journey and we are soooooo tired. I'm going to sleep now to dream about running again soon when it gets cooler.

lots of love

Another red rosette

Hi all

Guess wot.... me and Mac and Toddy went to a show and I won another red rosette. So did Mac and Toddy and then, Toddy won Best Of Breed. It was really good as Cousin Toddy is so cool. He gets really bored showing so mum says he looks like a sack of potatoes sometimes in the ring but today he was really good.

Miss W, shall I send you my red rosette for your collection?

lots of love
