Happy Christmas from Ceannabeinne

Happy Christmas from all of us to Woody and all his brothers and sisters, friends and humans.

Here are some pictures from our Ceannabeinne Christmas. We always leave a little snack and drink for Santa and his helpers by the fire. This year they got sherry, mince pie and carrot.

Toddy the snow dog was called by Santa to help deliver parcels again so he is very tired this morning after running back and forth to the North Pole last night. Our Guardian Angel dogs Turner, Zeni and Blaze are in New Hampshire just now helping Santa deliver presents to everyone so if you look very carefully Woody you will see them.
Have a lovely Christmas everyone
lots of howls and waggy tails from Storm, Reiger, Taggart, Spooky, Moose, Naska, Minnie, Mac, Nakki, and Toddy the Snow Dog. xxxxxx

Hey Woody!

Dear Woody:

It's Vail, your favorite sister. I have a vague recollection of my name being Bristol awhile ago when we lived together in New Hampshire. I now live in Massachusetts with my people Julie and Andrew. I also live with three siblings that look like me, Aspen, Denver and Boulder. My oldest sibling is Cooper, she is a sixteen year old standard schnauzer. She is fun to play with but tends to bark a lot more than the others.
I am going to be a sled dog too. If you search "teamcrawley" on Youtube you can see videos of me running along side my brothers and sisters as they train for the upcoming race season. Last weekend I actually got to pull my person on a scooter with a little help form my big brother Boulder.
Life is pretty good in Massachusetts. We go for walks every morning and every night. The other dogs are on leashes but so far I get to run free. Mom and Dad said that probably won't last to much longer. Being leash free is fun. Last month I caught a mouse and a chipmunk.
P.S. I miss sleeping on top of you. But sleeping on my people's bed everynight is fun too.

trail blazing

Dear Woody, Taggart and me have been helping Dad set the trails for the race this weekend.
These Landrovers are not all they are cracked up to be as you can see me and Tag had to help it get over the hump.
This weekend we have 80 teams coming to our forest so everything has to be ticketyboo. Mum and dad are going to be busy organising things so i will have to make sure we are ready to run when we need to. Dad is running four of us, then three and mum is running the two mad pups. Stormy BoB is going for a canicross run with Uncle Alex.
Next year you can run on my top team. If you are really good you will get to travel in dad's 'truck' K9DEF.
love Reiger

Argh!!!

Boomer here, greetings from the recovery ward.
Man am I bored.
And then I see this amazing action shot of all you hot shots in the UK!!!

So... I ate the book on dog sledding I found on the coffee table...

Healing thoughts for Boomer

Hi Everyone
Woody here.
This is our friend Boomer, who is currently healing up from surgery. He has luxated patellas in his rear legs. He had one fixed this past Friday.
Please send him love! Although he lives in the house now with Miss W and even sleeps on the bed, he still needs more healing energy. (Go figure...)
Boomer and Blossom are 2 weeks younger than Bridget, Bodhi and I are.

My Twin Sister Dahlia!

Hi Everyone

This is my twin sister Dahlia!
Since we are both black and white and gorgeous, it is obvious we are twins.
She lives with Miss W's friends Scott and Corina.
She has 3 puppy friends, Weather, Lucas and Kermit. Kermit is more like a big brother. They have lots of other friends there too, more dogs like us, and cats and even some birds!

I think she is often in trouble for eating things puppies are not supposed to, she must be like my friend Boomer who likes to eat dead rotten mice.

She says one day she hopes to be on Scott's super fast team. She is very athletic, light and super fast.

One day I hope I am Judy and Hugh's super fast team. They are in the US now, and I get to meet them today! I am very excited.

Hello All!

Hi Everyone
Woody here.
I just wanted to say hi, and let folks know how much we are looking forward to our visitors, and how much I am looking forward to meeting Mum and Dad.
Here are some recent photos of me, taken by Kim and Kelly Berg.

Miss W has been busy lately. She went to Mushing Boot Camp first of October. She said it was great. When she came home she found that my friend Boomer had become very lame. He is having luxating patellas. So Boomer has moved inside to the house, and will be there recovering for a month or so. We miss him, as he is so easy to trounce.

This is me and sister Bridget. She keeps everything fun and loves to steal my toys. (All the toys are mine...no really!)

This is Bodhi. He is crazy, but he's my brother. Please don't say anything mushy like he is handsome or anything.... jeeez...

This is Blossom, she is sad her brother is not well. She is our friend, and while her brother is in the house we let her stay in our kennel with us.

Well, thats all for now.
LOVE Woody

Dad went to a show too!

hello Woody

Just ignore Storm..... i know he is going on about his weekend but he is not really big headed. He hasn't been to many shows so he is really chuffed. He wants to go to Crufts next year but he can't as we are all going to Sweden instead.

Does Mr Terry like dog shows? Dad doesn't so he and uncle Matt went to a car show instead. This is his car, she is called Kitty. For some reason we are not allowed in her. I don't know why?

oops...have to go...mum says tea is ready...... bye for now, love Toddy xx

Hello Woody

Well, hello Woody. My, you are growing into a handsome little boy. I loved your photo of you in the truck. Dad said he liked the truck too.

We have had a really busy weekend and went to two championship shows. On Saturday we went to the Scottish Kennel Club Show. Mac won his class and Minnie got third in her class, which was good as there were lots of girlies in it. There were lots of boys in Toddy's class and he was short listed to the last 7 but wasn't placed. Mum said he moved really well but looked like a sack of potatoes as he is so bored in the show ring and just wants to be in the forest running.

On Saturday night we had 6 people and 50 dogs staying so we had a real party!

On Sunday we went to the Scottish Husky Club Championship Show. We had Simon Luxmoore judging the girls and a danish judge judging the boys. W
ell...........we had an amazing day. Minnie won her class and then won the Reserve Bitch CC. Best Bitch went to Mac's granny, Lara ke Teklanika, who came over here from Alaska 3 years ago from Judy Currier. I hear my old pal Turner was actually her first 'husband' before she came here. Miss W maybe met their son, Chatters, before he moved to Sweden.

Then, would you believe it, I won vintage dog and then the Reserve Dog CC. That gives me my KC stud book number which qualifies me for Crufts for life! I also won Best Vintage Dog in show. Me, ....a vintage dog... I'm only 10 and 3/4s! My pal Naska also won 3rd in the Open dog class which also gave him his KC stud book number. T
he picture is of me and Naska. I am the handsome light one and Naska is talking to Dad.

I have asked mum to take pictures of me and all my trophies and rosettes but she hasn't yet. You know, after all these years, she still doesn't always do what i tell her!

well, snooze time now. Us more mature dogs need our beauty sleep.

Regards

Storm RCC

Woody at the Vets

Hi Woody here again.
I hope no one thinks I am bragging, but here I am with my new friend, my vets daughter. She's a fourth grader! WOW!
She was with me when I got my micro chip and I hope she will back me up when I say I did not make a peep!

Love Woody

Woody and the Wood Truck

Hi all
Woody here, sending a big tail wag and a woo woo.

This weekend was really rather quiet, accept for my getting to go to the vet for a rabies shot and a microchip. I met some Boston Terriers and also a little girl who belonged to Dr Moritz. I also met a crazy bird dog who shook drool all over my head and Miss W almost gagged. That part was funny!

This is me in Terry's truck, but I did not get to go for a ride. It was just a photo-op. Maybe next time he will let me drive??? I think I am almost big enough to at least reach the steering wheel. Someone else will have to run the pedals. Miss W says she got to drive the LOG truck, which is way bigger than the wood truck. But no photos to prove it...funny that....

I am still looking for stories and pictures from all you out there...

Lots of love
WOODY

More photos

Hi everyone!
Hey, I think it is story time.
Toddy, it's your turn to tell a good story I think....
I don't have much news here. Miss W has been letting Nikka play with me and my siblings lately. Nikka is black and white like I am, and seem to think I need an extra ounce of attention... she likes to tickle my belly a lot. Bodhi was gone two nights in a row sleeping in the house. And now Bridget is! I want a turn too!

Hello from Ammo!

Hi everbody, I am Ammo, brother of Woody and Dahlia and the other pups for those that don't know me. My posh name is Barking Brooks Amarillo Slim of Shaytaan, it is a very important name, well I am a VIP (Very Important Puppy) according to my Mummy.

I live with another 21 Siberian Huskies, and they are all VIP's too, well they are VID's now, except for Cassie and my best friend Eclipse who are still VIP's like me!

I live in the girls pen with the 5 girls, they are BEAUTIFUL, all the boys next door are jealous of me and I keep barking at them and showing off 'cos I'm in with the girls. Mummy says I won't be in here much longer and then I have to go in the boys pen, and I won't be laughing so much then and that Uncle Keelut and Uncle Cal are going to bite my arse for teasing them. I think she's joking (I hope!)

Anyway I play with Uncle Keelut and Uncle Cal in the house and they are just like puppies too, it's great fun! They are MUCH bigger than me though, so sometimes it's a bit scary! They told me stories about when someone called Winter comes and he's really cold and white. I wonder if he is a husky? I know lots of white Huskies, but they are all warm?!

Anyway, when Winter comes, all the dogs put harnesses on and get to pull Daddy and Mummy along on something called an ATV or a sled, which are those things that are hanging from the roof where my bed is I think?! It's all very complicated. Keelut and Cal said it is GREAT FUN and they got all excited talking about it. It sounds like hard work to me, but they promised me I will love it!

Anyway, I had better go now, Mummy wants the computer back and she says I've left muddy paw prints all over the keyboard........oh dear!

From my wee sister Dahlia's Mom

Written by Corina from nearby Kiana Siberians.
About Dahlai (Woody, Bridget and Bodhi's sister) and the 3 puppies she has joined:

Anyone who has raised a puppy knows that they like to put everything in their mouth. Sometimes they eat the object. Other times they chew on the object until they destroy it or drop it because they found something new to put in their mouth. Raising four puppies at once means that we are always running around behind them pulling things from their mouths.
Last night we drove the puppies up to our usual walking trail. We let the pups out of the car and off they went to find fun things to put in their mouths. Each night we walk this 1.5 mile trail with them, and each night they find new things.
Two minutes into the walk Lucas found an old spray paint can. He held his head high and ran down the trail with his new prize. Lucas could not believe that he found such a neat treasure which made such a cool noise as he ran. His sisters, jealous that they did not spot it first, were in hot pursuit. Weather knocked Lucas off his feet, and Scott took away the can.
Off the puppies went because only a few feet away was their favorite rotting log. Yum! All four puppies started chowing down. We caught up to them and told them "on-by" which got them moving again.
Then came the mushroom feast. They ate mushroom after mushroom. It is hard to get them to not eat mushrooms because they are everywhere and they eat them so quickly.
When we get to the stinky mud puddle they forget all about the mushrooms. They love to stick their faces in the mud and get their fill. We have to catch up to them and tell them "on-by" to get them moving again. No worries because their is an even bigger, even stinkier, mud puddle just up ahead. In they go getting their fill of stinky mud. We catch up and tell them "on-by" to get them moving again.
The next thing on the trail is the rotting hay. Every couple of weeks a farmer spreads hay on the trail to help with the stinky mud puddles so that they can get the tractor in to hay the fields. Each night we have to catch up with them to get them to stop eating the hay.
The puppies got to the end of the trail when all four stopped to look at something off the side of the trail. Half joking I said to Scott and Ali "It must be something dead because of the interest they are showing!" we quickened our pace to catch up to them. All three of us caught up to the pups and saw that it was a dead bunny rabbit. Mr. bunny looked as though he was sleeping. The poor thing must have been hit by the tractor. He had dark brown fluffy fur. Part of me wanted to pick him up and send him on his way, the other part of me knew that he was dead. We called the puppies off and tried to get them to head back. Lucas and Letty came, but Weather and Dahlia were still trying to investigate. Dahlia started barking and poking the bunny with her nose. The bunny was almost the same size as her, but since Mr. Bunny did not fight back she decided it was safe because she grabbed the bunny by the middle and took off towards Letty, Lucas and me. I was horrified. Everything went into slow motion. Dahlia's little feet in the air at the same time as the bunny's head and rear end went into the air. Dahlia's little feet hit the ground and down went the bunny's head and rear end. A great big smile in Dahlia's eyes. Letty and Lucas, now interested in the fluffy brown treasure left my side to catch up to Dahlia. Weather trailing right behind Dahlia. I screamed to Scott "get it away from YOUR puppy!" Scott got her to drop it. I called them to me, but only Letty came. Scott got two sticks to use like chop sticks and he picked the bunny up by the leg and tossed him into the woods. It was horrible, and I could not help but do a full body shudder.

Fan Hitch

Dear Toddy, Steelie, Loona, Erif, Mac, Hugh and Judy
Hi it's me Woody, getting a quick chance at the computer while Miss W is away in North Carolina and some silly computer class.

Hey this is me with Bridget, Bodhi and Blue Dog. Guess where we are?!??! Hill Village, the mecca for local mushers. We are wearing our play harnesses for the first time cuz Miss W says we just choke ourselves pulling. After this photo we started working on gee-over. We also tried a little swimming (oops) and splashing. It's been hot.

What have you all been up to? We've been doing the usual, a few good walks each week, romping every day a few times with the Cinni Buns in the big yard. Trying to break out of the big yard has been fun too! We keep Terry busy filling holes and fixing fences.

Well, must run and cuddle with mom.
Luv-

Visit from Auntie Vicki

Hi Toddy and Mac
I love the photo of everyone and Dad.
You are lucky you get to go train in summer. Lately it's been hot and humid here. Only us little puppies get to do much. We can run loose on the trail out back, or go on leash on hiking trails. But we have to stop lots and get in the stream or swamp.

This past weekend our friend Vicki came to help do stack shots of the cinni-bun puppies. She played with us too, and I especially loved her. This is a photo of her and I bonding. She is a nice lady and has lots of big beautiful doggies at home, she has Malamutes! Way cool.

Tell everyone I said hi. Oh - and Mac - which one are you in the photo????

Love,
Woody

My Big Brother Java

Dear Toddy
You look so much like my big brother Java! I found a photo from last weeks handling class, where he is pretending to be a show dog. Check it out! Your sister Rio sure is pretty. Where does she live?

Here also is another photo from handling class. Do you ever do those? If you do...I'll stop making fun of Java. Me and Bodhi like to tease Java and Siepa. Siepa does not go to class but is awful grumpy with us, so it is fun to get him going. Though Miss W gets upset about it. She says we should not bark at other dogs through fences! Well we haven't gotten to play with many of the big dogs, so how else are we going to do it???

Well I must go, Miss W says she needs the computer for 'work' - ick!

Love,
Woody

Woody and the Cinni-Buns

Dear Toddy
Here are some pics from last nights romp in the backyard. Me and Bridget and Bodhi played with the cinn-buns again and also Uncle Hakka! He is so very nice, I want to be just like him when I grow up. The little puppy talking to me while I am in the chair is Ford, one of the cinni-buns. He is nice, I like him. I do not care that he is round!

I was sorry to hear about the evil puppy farmer and his lies in court. Hopefully the truth will come out and Daisy and Saphie will be safe. Please keep us posted. Miss W has a big soft heart for doggies that need new homes.

Hopefully things are dryer over there in the UK. Mud is fun, but it tends to lead to baths I hear.

Love,
Woody

Woody and Bridget Lounging

This is me and Bridget, after our big walk, having a little chew and getting settled down to nap. We have just met Ranger, Blue Dog and Blanche and enjoyed some of their water from their bowl. Wow their bowl is big!

Toddy - question for you - is this like where I will sleep when I am with you and everyone at Ceannabeinne? I think I like this little crate thing.

Photos from the Field Adventure

Here is me and pretty Bridget out walking together.
We walked along the edge like good pups, so as not to squash down the growing crop of hay. Next photo is of us being a little naughty, but Miss W thought it made a pretty photo.

Woody's Whirlwind Weekend

Dear Toddy, Judy and all at Ceannabeinne-
I hope you are enjoying your tea. Here is the story of my weekend!

First Miss W was in a dither getting ready for a visitor, Louise, who was to take home my little brother Bow. Then Louise was here and we had lots of play time with her. Louise was loads of fun. Saturday was very hot here, we were having a break from rain. We too have been having very wet weather lately. Anyway, later Saturday was a little sad as Bow left us, to become Amarillo Slim. But Sunday was fun. We again had play time in the grass backyard as Miss W did some deep cleaning of our kennel. Then we had naptime while the fat Cinni-Buns had playtime. Then myself and my little sister Bridget had a walk with Miss W up to the farm and around the fields. I was a very good boy and lead the group. I showed Bridget how to stay in the path in the fields and how to stay just ahead. Then little Bridget got tired and Miss W had to carry her. I was tired too, but very bravely kept leading our little group. Once we got home we had our first visit in the house where
we met Ranger, Blue Dog and Blanche. Ranger and Blanche are retired sled dogs! And wow are they cool (although Ranger does not like to share his bed). Blue Dog is a blue dog.... he was very nice to us and laid on the floor so we could crawl all over him. Then Miss W gave us water from a big dog bowl and little chewies and we napped in a crate for the first time. Later the most fun thing happened, two little girls came to visit us all! They played with the fat Cinni-Buns first and then came to visit us. Bridget was scared, but me and Brook's were not. Then Bridget saw that everything was safe and came out to play with the two little girls as well.

As if the day was not full enough we were visited by bikers! Miss W's friend DJ came on her motorcycle all the way from the seacoast with 3 friends who came to look at us.

Then pretty much that was it, accept we also had a new thing happen at dinner time. We no longer eat out of a puppy-saucer. We each have our own bowls! The Cinni-Buns are very jealous. They got our saucer, as they are so fat they barely fit around the one that was theirs.

Well tha'ts my story. I think Miss W has photos she can post later of me leading and also of Bridget and I in the crate napping and having chewies. So check back tomorrow!

Bye for now!
Love and wiggles
